All items on this site are graded using typical record grading scales and syntax, that are repeated here for clarity.
Grades are listed cover/disc 1 /disc 2 etc,
would indicate an EXCELLENT cover with disc 1 in VG+ condition, disc 2 in VG- condition.
Sealed (s): This record is still vacuum sealed, never having been opened.
Mint (m): The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioation in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. In practise old records are rarely mint, as this implies they are unplayed. NM records may have been played a handful of times, but without and sign of this.
Excellent (e): The record shoes some signs of having been played, but there is little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good (vg): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioation in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
Good (g): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deterioated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and or defaced.
Gradings in between the categories listed are widely used amongst collectors; e.g. E+ will be somewhere between the excellent and mint condition.
